California High Speed Rail

About This Project

The ambitious rail project will connect the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center in Anaheim and Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles with the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco through the Central Valley with speeds up to 220 miles per hour (350 km/h), providing a “one-seat ride” for the trip in 2 hours and 40 minutes.  Also, it is projected to reduce 5 to 10 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in it’s first 18 years of operation. That’s the equivalent of 17,700 and 53,000 personal vehicles taken off the road.
